Marty and I arrived early, giving ourselves 1 1/2 hours to peruse the cars in the exhibition hall, before heading into the theatre for the show.
The Exhibition Gallery
Immediately inside the entrance to the gallery was a Ferrari Enzo worth about NZ$1.4 million! As I stood admiring the carbon fibre casing around the engine, I noticed a guard standing in the display, staring blankly off into space. The thin, white (completely un-intimidating) guard came over to me and commented on how he couldn’t “understand why anyone would want to spend that much money on a car”. I looked back and forth between him and the car… I find it ironic that the person who got to spend his whole day in close proximity to such an amazing car, didn’t appear to have interest in it at all!
